| Making three pages of notes into one for Accounting exam |
Tiistaina minulla oli
kaksi koetta aamulla. Accounting kokeen loputtua kymmeneltä, Macroeconomics koe
alkoi 15 minuuttia myöhemmin. Accounting kokeeseen sai vain tuoda yhden
A4-täynnä muistiinpanoja, sillä kokeeseen ei saanut ottaa kirjaa mukaan. Ennen
kuin minulle kerrottiin tästä olin valmistunut kirjoittamalla muistiinpanoja kahdelle
erilliselle paperille. Tämähän
tarkoitti, että päivää ennen koetta jouduin pienentämään muistiinpanoni
entisestään, että kaikki mahtuu samalla paperille. Tämä onneksi onnistu, mutta
tietenkin unohdin ottaa laskimen kokeeseen mukaan, joten kyllähän puolet
kokeesta meni muistiinpanojen kanssa, mutta muuten kokeessa piti vain laskea
eri vaihtokursseja ja sen sellaista. Toivottavasti nyt pisteitä saa, vaikka en
loppu summaa koskaan saanut laskettua. Ensimmäistä kertaa ennen koetta laukut
piti jättää luokan etu-osaan, ettei pystyisi lunttaamaan kokeen aikana kirjasta
tai kännykästä. Myös kaikki kiinalaiset olivat todella hiljaa vaikkakin meidän
valvojat puhuivat koko ajan jotain kiinaksi.
Macrokoe oli myös melko
vaikea, mutta opettaja oli jo luvannut melkein, että kaikki vaihto-oppilaat
pääsevät kokeesta läpi. Tämä ei kylläkään pitänyt paikkaansa, sillä opettaja
hylkäsi yhden tanskalaisen kokeen, sillä hän jatkoi puhumista varoituksista
huolimatta. Eli hän joutuu ennen tanskaan paluuta tehdä koe uudestaan. Kokeeseen
sai tuoda kirjat ja muistiinpanot, mutta näin kyllä miten moni käytti kännykkää
vaikka opettaja oli kokeen aikana valppaana. Opettaja ilmoitti varttia ennen
kokeen loppua, ettei hän anna mitään lisää aikaa heille jotka tulivat myöhässä,
enpä tiedä pystyiköhän pitämään lupauksensa sillä afrikkalaiset huusivat
tarvitsevansa lisää aikaa ja opettajan olevan todella epäreilu. Jahas.. Enää
kaksi koetta jäljellä perjantaina, ja saa sitten nähdä pitääkö joku koe uusia
vai ei.

I had two exams on
Tuesday. As Accounting ended at 10 I had fifteen
minutes to go to my Macroeconomic final exam. For the Accounting exam I could
bring only one A4 with notes, but no book. Before I was aware of this I had
made notes onto two sheets of paper, so the day before my exam I only had to
rewrite my notes smaller so I got everything to fit onto one paper. My notes
helped me a bit, but since I forgot to take my calculator with me, and half of
the exam answers you got by counting, I didn’t do too well. This was the first
really strict exam. The class had been divided into two classrooms. All bags
had to be left in the front and we had two supervisors. Since all instructions
were given in Chinese I had no idea what was happening in the class at all.
Also my macroeconomics exam was challenging.
We could bring our books to the exam, but since I only have the book on my
computer I only had notes with me. This of course didn’t help much either if
the questions were about some detail in the book I hadn’t noticed. The teacher
was strict during the exam, and she even threw one of the Danes out after
chatting during the exam. I left before the exam ended, so I don’t know if she
really ended the exam when she was supposed to, since she had told us that no
students coming late will be given extra time. Some teachers do this, which I
think is weird.. And since all the Africans started shouting fifteen minutes
before the end of the exam that they needed more time, I wonder what the
teacher did..
