Tässä koulusta saamani joululahjat
eilisistä juhlista. Saimme myös lahja voucherin yhteen koulu-alueen kahvilaan
ja menin tänään lunastamaan lahjani. Luulin ensin saavani kakun, mutta
paketissa olikin viisi kippoa täynnä keksejä.
Minulla olisi ollut aamulla
Macroeconomics tunti, mutta jätin sen väliin ja nukuin mielummin pitkään. Minun
piti eilen jo värjätä hiukseni, mutta en ehtinyt tehdä sitä juhlien takia,
joten tein sen tänään aamulla. Ruokakadulla on noin viisi kampaajaa, joten
menin paikkaan jossa kukaan muu ei ole ollut. Olin siis vaan kuullut pahaa
muista pakoista, joten päätin ottaa riskin ja toivoa tätä paikkaa paremmaksi.
Olin aikaisemmin ostanut hiusvärini Watson liikkeestä joka on samassa ostoskeskuksessa
kuin uusi Carrefour. Annoin värin kampaajalle, joka heti ilmoitti, ettei väri
tule riittämään. Sanoin ettei se haittaa sillä halusin juurikasvun piiloon. Hän
alkoi heti hommiin ja kun koko juurikasvu oli värjätty hän ilmoitti ettei uusi
väri yhtään sovi latvojen väriin. Jahas.. Puolivälissä sähköt menivät, ja sen
aikaa kun odotimme värin vaikuttavan kampaajat eivät voineet ottaa uusia
asiakkaita ollenkaan sähkökatkon takia. Puolen tunnin jälkeen kampaaja
huomasikin, että onhan sitä väriä jäljellä ja sai latvatkin värjättyä. Onneksi
nyt sentään niin, aloin jo pelätä että tumma juurikasvu ei vaaleiden latvojen
kanssa olisikaan toiminut niin hyvin. Sähköjen palatessa kampaajalle tuli kiire
pestä väri pois, jotta hän ehtisi kuivata hiukset. Onneksi minun ei tarvinnut
kävellä märissä hiuksissa kotiin. Värjäys maksoi alle kymmenen euroa ja nyt
minua ei taas tule erottamaan paikallisista tummilla hiuksillani.
Nyt odottelen tässä, että
lähtisimme tanskalaisten kanssa ulos syömään joulu-illallisen. Eipä varmasti
tule olemaan yhtään perinteinen kinkkuineen ja laatikoineen. Mutta eipä minulla
muutenkaan täällä Shanghaissa mikään joulu-fiilis ole ollut.

Merry Christmas !
Here are the presents I got from school
from yesterday’s party. I also got cookies in a box for the gift voucher I received
at the party.
I should have had class in the morning, but
I decided to sleep instead of going to listen to Macroeconomics on Christmas. I
also should have gone yesterday to color my hair, but I didn’t have time
because of the party, so did it today. I had bought haircolor from Watson,
since I don’t trust the hairdressers here so much that I can let them use their
own colors. The nearby food-street has at least five hair salons, so I just
went to one that I hadn’t hear any bad things about. Some girls have got their
hair cut in the other salons and they were really unhappy with the results. At
the salon I gave one of the guys my hair color and I was told that it wasn’t enough.
I just needed them to cover my roots so I said it would do. As he was coloring
my hair the power went out. In the beginning there were two customers, but
after the power went out they couldn’t take any more customers. In the end I
sat there alone with three hairdressers. After thirty minutes my hairdresser realized
that there was enough color and he could color the rest of the hair. Afterwards
I’m happy that there was enough color since my roots would have become too dark
compared to the rest of the hair. As the power came back he was in a hurry to
wash my hair so he could blow dry it. Probably because he was afraid that the
power would go out again. Or then they are used to it..
Later on the evening I will go out to
celebrate Christmas with the Danish students to some restaurant. This Christmas
won’t be at all traditional but then again I haven’t been as excited about it
as I usually am.
