CCn piti lauantaiaamuna ajaa äitinsä ja pari hänen ystävää Hongkouhun, eli keskustan lähettyville alueelle. Kun nyt sinne asti ajettiin, päätimme käydä paikassa nimeltä 1933. Paikka on tuttu Running Man nimisestä tv-sarjasta, mutta muuta en paikasta tiennytkään. Rakennus on vanha teurastamo, joka on muutettu ostos-ja ruokailu-kohteeksi. Suurimmaksi osaa ihmiset siellä vaan kuvasivat erikoista rakennusta. Söimme lounaan Ferrari omistajien klubi nimisessä paikassa, jossa oli sisustettu formula 1 teeman mukaan. Paikan päällä ei ollut montaa ravintolaa, mutta ainakin yksi muu ravintola tarjosi melkein saman menun, eli heillä oli yhteinen keittiö. Tilasimme Macaolaisen hampurilaisen, spagetti bolognesia, sipulirenkaita ja sienikeittoa hintaan kolmetoista euroa. Lounaan jälkeen kiertelimme rakennusta ja ihmettelimme sen erikoista tyyliä. Rakennuksen ulkopuolelle oli kerääntynyt iso määrä Ferrareja, Lamborgineja ja muita erikoisia ja kalliita merkkejä.

                                                                                                                                                               

On Saturday morning CC had to drive his mother with some friends to Hongkou, so we seized the moment and went to a place called 1933 during the same trip. 1933 is a former slaughter house that has been transformed into a shopping, dining and entertainment complex. The building is most famous for its unique style and lots of people wandered around taking pictures. We were quite hungry so we looked what some of the restaurants had to offer. Two places had almost the same menu, but the Ferrari owners’ club was more interesting, so I chose to eat there. The restaurant followed the Formula 1 theme with a car in the middle of the space and some other car related stuff on display and for sale. We had some spaghetti, hamburger, onion rings and mushroom soup for 90rmb. After lunch we walked around the place. Actually there was not much to see, but still it is an interesting place, when all the other major sights have been seen too many times. Outside the building lots of Ferraris and Lamborghinis, and other expensive cars were parked, so maybe there really was a club devoted to the owners, or then they were just there for display? 

I Love Me -messut

Äitini oli voittanut Ellen arvonnassa kaksi pääsylippua I Love Me –messuille, jotka ovat toisin sanoen jokavuotiset kauneus, terveys ja muoti messut, jotka pidetään messukeskuksessa. Saimme siellä vietettyä huimat viisi tuntia kierrellen ja katsellen mitä oli tarjolla. Kävimme mm. hiuspohjan analyysissä, jossa selvisi jonkin verran hiuspohjani laadusta ja miten sitä hoitaa. Paras osuus oli kyllä puolentunnin kestävät meikkaus ja hius –kurssit, jotka serkkuni järjesti messuilla. Päivän aikana pystyi valitsemaan yhden viidestä eri ilmaiskokeilukurssista, johon osallistua, mutta mikäli paikat eivät olleet täyttyneet sai osallistua muihinkin. Menimme ensiksi oppimaan miten tehdään smoky eyes look. Kaksitoista henkeä sai tehdä meikkauksen itse omien pöytien ääressä, kun muu messu-yleisö pystyi seuraamaan sivusta. Kun nyt kerran itse sai tehdä, samalla kun meitä opastettiin, päätin kokeilla jotain värikkäämpää lookia, enkä päätynyt normaaliin ruskeaan tai mustaan, vaan otin kirkkaan sinisen päävärikseni. Väri toimi hyvin, ohjeet olivat selvät ja lopputulos loistava. Parin tunnin jälkeen kävimme seuraavalle oppitunnille, jossa opimme tupeeraamaan oikeaoppisesti. Tämäkin homma meni ihan hyvin ja jatkossa sitten itse osaa kun kerran on saanut seurata ammattilaista sivusta.

My mother won two tickets for the I Love Me –fair. Last weekend we went there and spent almost five hours by just walking around the different sections that included beauty, health, fashion and fitness. The fair is held every year and I have been there a couple of times before. This time there were a lot of great brands and products to see and test. The best part of the fair was the beauty school lessons held by my cousin that we attended. On the first one we learnt how to do a smoky eyes look. Instead of trying out the basic brown or black styles I went for the blue color and the end result was great. Twelve lucky ones were able to attend each lesson and do the makeup their selves as my cousin was giving directions from the stage on how to do it. People who couldn’t attend the class themselves were able to follow the process around the stage. The second class we attended taught us on how to put volume in our hair styles. The instructions were simple, but the amount of products used was and stages to take is a bit overwhelming to do on your own. In the end it was great to follow a professional and go it on your own.

Esprit Dior

Kävin Shanghain Museum of Modern Art – museossa, joka sijaitsee keskellä Peoples Park:ia. Paikkaa ei ollut helppo löytää sillä se oli keskellä metsää, eli ihan näyttelyn kylttejä seuraten löysin koko museon. Esprit Dior näyttely oli meneillään, ja päätin mennä nyt ajoissa ennen kun se loppuu Marraskuussa. Sisäänpääsy maksoi alle neljä euroa ja sain englanninkielisen esitteen, jossa kerrottiin näyttelyn eriosioista. Museo oli ihan täynnä paikallisia sekä muutama ulkomaalainenkin siellä näky. Oli aika yllättävää nähdä melkein yhtä paljon miehiä kun naisia katsomassa näyttelyä, sillä en oikein usko, että Suomessa Dior kiinnostaa yhtään miehiä. Lisäksi koko näyttely sisälsi vain naistenmuotia. En kauheasti jäänyt ihailemaan piirroksia, vaatteita tai valokuvia koska paikalla oli melkoinen tungos. Etenkin tv-näyttöjen eteen oli vaikea jäädä seuraamaan, kun ympärillä oli niin paljon ihmisiä. Myös melkein kaikki seinillä olevat tekstit jäi lukematta. Sen sijaan räpsin kuvia kaikesta mikä kiinnosti minua, eli lopputulos oli vähän yli 200 kuvaa noin tunnin kierrokselta.

Ensimmäinen osio oli nimeltään ”the Dior allure” ja siellä oli Diorin piirustukset esillä. Näytillä oli myös asuja alkuajoilta, ne eivät olleet kauhean kiinnostavia, ja oli vaikea kuvata niitä kun ne olivat verkon takana suojassa kosketuksilta. Toinen osio oli ”from pink to red” ja täällä tykkäsin enemmän seinillä olevista valokuvista vaikka huoneessa oli myös asuja. Kolmas osio oli ”Paris”, jossa oli esillä vain mustia asuja. ”The Dior garden” oli kauniisti sisutettu puutarhateemaa ajatellen. ”The Dior ateliers” näytti mitä Diorin työntekijät tekevät, ja mitä työkaluja he käyttävät. Yhdellä pöydällä oli ompelutarvikkeita ja toisella oli parfyymi-pullojen koristelu piste. Näyttely jatkui ”Dior and artists” ja ”the Chinese artists” osiolla. Olisin varmasti pitänyt tästä enemmän jos olisin lukenut tekstit, mutta nopeasti katsottuna osio oli melko sekava. ”Versailles: the Trianon” oli paljon hienoja pukuja esillä lasiseinän takana ja myös paljon hyviä valokuvia. ”Stars in Dior” esitteli sekä uusia että vanhoja asuja ja julkkiksia, jotka on asuja käyttänyt. Esillä oli mm. Jennifer Lawrencen puku, joka hänellä oli päällä saadessaan oscari-palkinnon. ja jos en muista väärin hän myös kompastu puku päällä menneessään lavalle! Viimeinen osio nimeltään ”J’adore” oli mielestäni hienoin, sillä esillä olleet puvut eivät olleet minkään takana ja muutenkin huone oli koristettu kattoa myöten.

I went to see the Esprit Dior exhibition at the Museum of contemporary art in Shanghai. Finding the MOCA building was difficult since it was in the middle of the woods in People’s Park. I only found the place by following the exhibition signs. The entrance cost 30RMB and I also got a booklet about the Esprit Dior in English. All the rooms displaying clothes, photographs and sketches were completely full. The exhibition has been running since 13^th of September every day and still the museum was packed. I was also surprised to see almost an equal amount of men as women coming to see Dior’s creations. From the looks you could straight see that “fashion is their passion” in the way the men were dressed. As there were so many people, I just went through everything pretty fast. Instead of staying to admire all the details put into the exhibition, I just took photos of everything that looked interesting. In the end I ended up with a bit over 200 pictures from the museum. 

The first part of the exhibition was called “the Dior allure” and it first consisted of lots of Christian Diors earlier sketches and designs.  The clothes in this section were behind a net, so that nobody would touch them, but on the other hand it was hard to take pictures of them when also the lights were dim in the room. The second part “from pink to red” had nice photos on the walls and all the clothes in this room were in different shades of red. After this came “Paris” with all black garments. “The Dior garden” was more colorful and the setting was nicely made. On the way to different rooms there were smaller rooms with big screens showing videos about different things such as runway shows, ad campaigns, ateliers and some history about the fashion house.  In “the Dior ateliers” section you could see workers in action. There was one table with sewing equipment on display and at another table were two workers showed the perfume embellishing work. “Dior and artists” and “the Chinese artists” would have been probably good, if I would have red all the texts on the walls and beside the garments, but as it was crowded I just went through this section really fast. “Versailles: the Trianon” had lots of garments on display behind a glass wall. In the “stars in Dior” section you could see from two screens celebrities, who have worn Dior creations. In this section I even recognized some of the designs, such as the dress Jennifer Lawrence wore when tripping over as she was going to receive her Oscar. The last part named “j’adore” had lots of embellished metallic dresses on display. This was also the most beautiful of all of the settings, since the whole room was decorated all the way to the ceiling.
