Tullessamme Shanghaihin
sää oli todella hyvä. Päivät olivat aurinkoisia ja lämpötila 30 asteen
kieppeillä. Jonain päivinä tuli pieniä sadekuuroja, mutta tähän saakka ei ole
ollut päiväkään, jolloin olisi satanut koko päivän. Koulun alkaessa syyskuun
alkupuolella, melkein joka päivä oli todella aurinkoinen ja lämpötila oli yli
30 astetta. Eli jo kello kahdeksalta mennessäni kouluun, olin ihan hiestä märkä
saapuessani luokkaan. Monet luokkahuoneet ovat melko avonaisia, joten
ilmastoinnin ollessaan huono oli todella epämukavaa istua paikoillaan kuumuuden
takia. Pari ensimmäistä kouluviikkoa meni hellettä tuskaillen, kunnes yhtenä
päivänä olikin yllättäen vain vähän yli parikymmentä astetta. Silloin piti jo
pistää pitkät housut päälle.
Syyskuun loppupuolella
lämpötila pysytteli kahdenkymmenen asteen molemmilla puolilla. Sää on ollut
pääsääntöisesti aurinkoinen tai puolipilvinen. Sadekuurot ovat usein kestäneet
vain kymmenen minuuttia ja paikoin ne ovat olleet todella rajuja. Eli syyskuun
sää on ollut sekä todella kuuma ollessaan yli 30 astetta, ja silloin olen
käyttänyt vain toppeja ja shortseja, ja melko viileä ollessaan alle 20 astetta,
jolloin minulla on ollut pitkähihainen ja pitkät housut päällä. Seuratessani
Suomen säitä lämpötila erot ovat vaihdelleet kymmenestä asteesta jopa yli
kahteenkymmeneen asteeseen. Eli Suomessa ollessa alle kymmenen astetta täällä
on ollut yli kolmekymmentä. Olen myös
huomannut, että lämpötila täällä vaihtelee samaan malliin kun Suomessa, eli lämpötila
laski samana päivänä täällä ja Helsingissä ja nousi samanaikaisesti molemmissa
paikoissa.

When we first arrived in Shanghai the weather was great. It was sunny and not too hot, since it was a bit windy. When my school started in the beginning of September the temperature was over 30 degrees all the time. So when I walked to my classes eight in the morning it was so hot, that just after walking a couple of minutes I was sweating more than in the gym. Also sitting in the classes was horrible in the beginning since the air-conditioning didn't always help. For most of the time the weather has been either sunny or cloudy. It has only rained a few times and usually the rain only takes ten minutes until it ends. But when it rains, it usually pours down, so I'm glad I have only been outside once when the rain has started. In the end of September the temperature got colder, around 20 degrees, and when you had just got used to over 30, it seemed like 20 was cold.
In the end of September I started using jackets and pants, since it was too cold to walk outside in tops and shorts. The lower temperatures only lasted for a week and now the temperature is back to a normal +26 degrees which I like, since its neither hot nor cold. I have also noticed that the temperature changes occur at the same time in both Finland and here in Shanghai. When it got colder in Helsinki, it got cold here and when the temperature rose again it happened on the same day in both places.
