Bar Rouge's outside bar and inside decoration with Swede-them
Olimme matkalla Bar
Rouge:in, mutta koska drinkit siellä maksavat niin paljon, päätettiin mennä
ensin Sky baariin. Sky baarin ulkopuolella oli paljon länsimaalaisia, jotka kertoivat,
että jos haluamme kirjoittaa nimemme listalle saamme baarista ilmaiset juomat
loppuillan. Olihan se ihan hyvä diili, sillä viime kerralla maksoimme 13€ drinkkirannekkeesta.
Lyhytkasvuinen mies johdatti meidät sisälle baariin ja saimme jopa pöydän itsellemme.
Tällä kertaa musiikki oli parempaa ja paikalla oli enemmän länsimaalaisia.
Tapasin jopa baaritiskin luona Suomalaisen pojan, joka opiskelee toisessa yliopistossa.
Hänkin on ainoa Suomalainen yliopistollaan. Enpä olisi arvannut, että hän oli
Suomalainen, sillä hänellä oli nolon-siisti pandalippis päällä.
Kello yhdeltä yksi
tanskalaisista sanoi, että lähdetään seuraavaan baariin. Luulin, että kaikki
muutkin oli tulossa, mutta kukaan ei seurannut meitä ulos. Mentyämme ulos
tanskalainen ei enää päässyt takaisin sisään, joten promoterin avulla kiersimme
takakautta takaisin sisään baariin. Melkoisten ongelmien jälkeen pääsimme
vihdoin Bar Rouge:iin, jossa oli menossa Swede Dream –teema bileet. Sisäänpääsy
oli 13€ erikoispäivän takia. Baarissa soitti ruotsalainen DJ ja koko paikka oli
sisustettu ruotsin-lipuilla. Tulimme paikalle sen verran myöhään, että paikka
oli melko tyhjä jo. Ostin daiqirin kympillä ja saimme loistavan istumapaikan
reunan vierestä. Bar Rouge on avoin baari, eli vain puolet baarista on katettu
ja muuten istutaan ulkona. Baari sijaitsee parhaimmalla paikalla Bundilla, eli
baarista oli loistavat näkymät Pudongin puolelle. Koska ulkona oli niin pimeää,
en saanut mitään maisema kuvia.
Bar Rouge oli tähän
saakka paras baari jossa olen käynyt, joten sinne menen varmaan jatkossa jos
vaan rahat riittää. Katsottuani baarin kotisivuja huomasin, että heillä on
paljon Ruotsalaisille tarkoitettuja juhlia kuten esim. juhannus juhlat. Porukka
hajaantui illan aikana ja lähtiessämme mäkkäriin, löysimme taas kaksi istumasta
ulkoa. Kaksi tanskalaisista keksi poseerata tuktukissa, eli mopo, jolla on
peräosa missä voi istua kahdesta kolmeen henkilöä. Istuessaan he sanoivat McDonald’s
ja kuljettaja päätti heittää heidät sinne. Meidän jäädessä viisi henkeä jälkeen
emme mahtuneet kaikki samaan taxiin. Lähdin kävelemään tanskalaisen kanssa
pitkin Nanjing Roadia kun ohitsemme meni toinen tuktuk, jossa loput kolme
tanskalaista iloisesti vilkuttaen ajoi ohi. Löysimme kävellen lopulta mäkkärin,
mutta se olikin suljettu. Soitimme toisille ja saimme tietää, että he
menivätkin KFC. Onneksi se ei ollut pitkällä, joten tapasimme siellä. Ei ole
hajuakaan minne kaksi ensimmäistä tuktukilla matkustavaa hävisivät, mutta he
varmasti löysivät avoimen mäkkärin. Lopulta jouduimme änkeämään taas viisi
henkeä taxiin, mutta kotimatka sujui muuten hyvin.

We were on our way to Bar Rouge, which is
on the Bund, but since the drinks are so expensive we decided to go to Sky Bar
first. As we came outside Sky there were a lot of western people, who told us
to sign our names on a list, so we’ll get free drinks during the whole night in
the bar. This was a good deal, since last time we paid 100RMB for the open bar,
but I rater don’t spend my money on drinks. This time the music was better and
there were more western people in the club than last time. I even met a Finnish
guy at the bar, who is studying in Shanghai for 6 months. He is also the only
Finnish at his university. I would never had guessed that he is Finnish, since
I haven’t seen Fins wearing such a ridicules panda hats as he was wearing in the
club. I also felt as my national duty to check if he was ok when I saw him
running to the bathroom to throw up. I was also there to help him when he was alone
outside waiting for his friends to get him home.
At one o’clock one of the Danes told me
that we should leave to the next club. As we went outside nobody else seemed to
think it was time to switch bars, since no one else came outside. I was welcomed
back inside, but the bouncer didn’t let the Danish guy in, so with the help of
a promoter, we walked around the building and back into the club from the
backdoor. My evening didn’t get much better when I got “beer-shower” all over
me. After even more problems we finally made it to Bar Rouge. They had a Swede
Dream –theme night going on and it cost 100RMB to get inside. It was worth it,
since there was a Swedish DJ playing and the whole place was decorated with
Swedish flags. As we came so late to the club, it had started getting empty. This
was only a good thing, since we got a sofa to sit at. The place had a really
nice view over the river and the skyscrapers on Pudong side. The bar is located on the top floor in one of the old buildings at the Bund. The bar is an open
space with a roof only covering half of the bar. But since it is located at
such an excellent spot, it is just great that you can see the whole view. I couldn't get pictures of the skyscrapers on the other side since it was so dark outside. The
drinks at the place were expensive as my daiquiri cost 90RMB, but this was the
first place with great drinks, good music and excellent view. So if you don’t
feel like dancing it is easy to just sit at the end of the terrace and just talk. I will
be going there again, at least to the Midsummer party, if not sooner ;)
