Yksi tanskalaisista
täytti vuosia, joten lähdimme porukalla Radisson Blu New World –hotellin
ravintolaan syömään. Ravintola sijaitsee 45. kerroksessa ja ravintolasta on 360
asteen näkymät Shanghain keskustan ylle. Ravintola pyörii hitaasti ympäri ja
vasta illallisen jälkeen tajusin, että ainoastaan osa, jossa pöydät on katettu
pyöri muiden osien seistessä paikoillaan. Illallisen aikana ohitsemme kulki
keittiö, hissit, viinivalikoima, pylväät, koriste-esineet ja vessat. Eli
lähtiessämme hissit niin sanotusti tulivat vastaan. Illan alussa katselimme
People’s Park:ia, ruoan aikana edessämme oli näkymät Nanjing Roadista Pudongin
pilvenpiirtäjiin asti. Lähtiessämme pois näkymämme huononi, sillä hotellin
toisella puolella ei ole paljon valaisutettuja rakennuksia.
Tarjolla oli suuri määrä
viinejä, mutta valitsin juomaksi cocktailin nimeltä Over the skyline, muiden
juodessa olutta tuopeista. Ruokia selaillessa minulta kysyttiin mitä olen
miettinyt ottaa. Tarjolla oli ruokalajeja Kiinasta, Intiasta, Japanista ja
Euroopasta. Sanoin ottavani Intialaista, sillä eihän nyt näin kalliiseen
paikkaan kannata tulla syömään pizzaa. Vieressäni istuvat pojat kiltisti
tottelivat ja tilasivat saman ruoan kun minä, muiden syödessä pizzaa. Ateriaani
oli nimeltä Murgh malai tikka, ja siihen kuului jugurtissa ja mausteissa
marinoituja kanan paloja, sekä perunaa että salaattia. Ruoka maistui, mutta
annos oli kyllä lopulta melko pieni. Ruoka oli kyllä lopulta myös hintansa
arvoinen sillä näkymät ravintolasta oli todella näkemisen arvoiset.

One of the Danish boys had his birthday on
Friday so went out to celebrate him. We started by going to Radisson Blu New
World Hotels restaurant. The restaurant was located on the 45th
floor and the view over the city was amazing. The restaurant is has a 360
degree view and it is spinning slowly around so you could see the whole centrum
from your table. For some reason I thought the whole floor was spinning until I
noticed that the things outside our “private room” changed all the time. For
example when we arrived we had to walk from the elevators around the whole
restaurant to get a table for eight, but when we left the elevator was outside
the room. When we first arrived we were watching Peoples Park and the
highlighted Yan an elevate road. During dinner we could see Nanjing Road and
the skyscrapers on the Pudong side. And as we left our table was facing the
“back side” of the city and there weren’t as much buildings to see.
I chose a cocktail called Over the
skyline, as the other ones drank beer. As we were looking through the menu the
guys sitting next to me asked what I was having. I said it would be stupid to
come to place like this and order pizza, when you can get pizza everywhere in
the city. Seems like they listened since both the guys sitting next to me
ordered Indian food, even though all the other ones ate pizza. I had Murgh
malai tikka which is Boneless chicken cubes marinated in yogurt and mild
spices, basted with butter and cream with some potatoes and salad. The food was
really nice, even though it could have been a bit bigger. Also the view
from the restaurant justifies the high prices they take for the food and
drinks.
