En halunnut viettää koko lauantai päivää hotelilla, joten päätin kysyä saksalaisen ulos shoppailemaan. Olimme lähdössä isommalla porukalla, mutta onneksi kukaan ei ehtinyt tulla, joten lähdimme kahdestaan. Otimme taxin Qipu Roadille, jossa on isot vaatemarkkinat. Markkinat sijaitsevat sisällä neljässä kauppakeskuksessa. Kauppoja ja käytäviä on kaikkialla, ja sisällä on helppo eksyä. Asiaa ei helpota, että paikalla on monta kerrosta, jossa on erihintaista tavaraa tarjolla. Sääntönä on, että mitä korkeampi kerros sitä korkeampi hinta. Kaupatkin tarjoavat erilaisia vaatteita, joka kaupassa, mikä tekee kiertämisestä hauskempaa, sillä heti ei tiedä mitä on tarjolla. Vaatteet ovat monessa paikkaa samantapaisia, mutta kaiken tyyliset löytävät jotain itselleen, jos vain oikea koko löytyy.

Emme pitkään ehtineet kierrellä liikkeitä, ennen kun he alkoivat sulkea viideltä. Siirryimme kadun toisella puolella sijaitsevaan kauppakeskukseen, jossa oli tarjolla muutakin kun vain vaatteita. Täältä löytyi hattuja, vöitä, koruja, alusvaatteita ja sukkia. Yhdessä kerroksessa oli vain lasten vaatteita ja tarjolla oli myös enemmän miesten vaatteita, kun mitä edellisessä keskuksessa oli. Ainoa asia joka haittaa on roskien määrä käytävissä. Kauppiaat luultavasti heittävät kaikki pakkausmateriaalit avatessaan uuden erän suoraan ulos käytävään. Koska tarjolla oli joka liikkeessä, jotain uutta, ja myyjät eivät huutele perään, aion käydä täällä jatkossa ostamassa kaikki vaatteeni. Ja mikäli ei kokoja löydy menen miesten puolelta ostamassa Adidakset, Superdryt ja Zarat.

Paikalliset käyvät Qipun markkinoilta ostamassa halvemmalla vaatteensa, sillä laatu on sama kun merkkien omissa liikkeissä. Luin jostain, että tarjolla olevat vaatteet ovat samaa erää kun mitä normaaleissa kaupoissa on, mutta markkinoiden vaatteet ovet valmistettu yöllä, eli niitä ei lähetetä erän tilaajalle. Pitää vain alkaa hiomaan tinkimistaitojani ja voin ensi kerralla lähteä ostoksille yhdeksältä aamulla, jotta ehdin mennä läpi edes yhden rakennuksista.

I didn’t want to spend the whole Saturday at the hotel room after yesterday’s partying, so I asked if the German student wanted to go out shopping. We were supposed to go shopping in a group but nobody could make it on time, so we went just the two of us. Since we left after three o’clock and the market would close at five, we decided to take a taxi to the city. We went to Qipu lu, where four big clothing markets are located. We just went into one of them and there were all kinds of women’s cloths everywhere. After seeing what they have to offer and knowing that you can negotiate the price down, I don’t think I will need to go to normal shops anymore. We went through all the floors, since the higher the floor the better the shop is and the price is also higher.

As they started closing their shops at five, we decided to go into one of the other buildings. There was more different kinds of shops e.g. shops with socks, underwear, belts and hats. There was also a floor for only children’s clothes. Seeing them sell normal brands like Superdry, Adidas and Zara, makes me want to buy everything from there. The shops weren’t as crappy as I had imagined when reading about a clothing market at qipulu. The only thing that bothered me was the amount of trash on the corridors, since all the shops leave their trash like plastic and paper in the corridor. Overall there where so many shops on every floor that you could spend one they in each of the buildings. Since we only made it into two of the buildings I don’t know what the other two markets were like.

I even liked this market more than the Science and Technology market, since almost every shop has different things on sale. The only down side is that they only carry one size and e.g. I don’t think I will be able to buy pants or shorts from there since the sizes are so small. On the other hand tops and dresses seemed to be better sized. And since there is a lot of clothing stores for men I always can buy pants in their sizes. Next time I will be at market at nine in the morning so I can go through every shop on every floor.
