Tapasin torstaina kaverin
kaupungissa ja menimme syömään Korealaiseen ravintolaan. Meidän oli ruokailun
jälkeen tarkoitus mennä jousiammuntaan. Tiesin, että Huaihai Roadilla on ampuma
rata, joten suuntasimme sinne. Paikka ei ollut kovin helppo löytää sillä
sisäänkäynti sijaitsi sivukadulla. Keskellä kaupunkia seitsemännessä kerroksessa
sijaitsee shanghai modern military sports club. Paikalla ei ollut kumminkaan
jousiammunta mahdollisuutta, joten kokeilimme ammuntaa. Paikka on todella
ylihinnoitettu, eli luoti maksaa noin euron kappale. Saimme valita noin
seitsemästä aseesta, mitä haluamme kokeilla, ja valitsimme nyt simppelin
käsiaseen. Tarjolla oli siis käsiaseita ja kiväärejä, sekä kalliimpana
vaihtoehtona Magnum käsiase. Asiakkaita paikalla ei ollut meidän lisäksi
yhtään, joten meidät vietiin heti ampuma radalle. En edes ehtinyt ottaa takkia
pois tai jättää laukkua mihinkään ennen kun olin jo kopissa kiinalaisen
ohjaajan kanssa. Ohjeet selostettiin kiinaksi kovin lyhyesti, mutta ampuma
radalla olen jo onneksi kahdesti käynyt aikaisemmin, sillä en tiedä paljon
ensikertalainen ohjeista ymmärtää. Ase ei ole lukittuna mihinkään pöytään vaan
sitä voi heiluttaa miten sattuu. Sain kerran ammuttua, mutta sitten ase meni
jumiin. Ohjaaja yritti metalli työkalulla irrottaa jumiin jääneen luodin.
Tämäkin vaikutti melko vaaralliselta touhulta, mutta he ovat varmaan tottuneet
siihen, että aseet näin käyttäytyvät.
Ohjaaja täytti aina
lippaan sen tyhjennettyä, mutta koska maksu suoritetaan vasta ampumisen jälkeen,
päätin vain ampua kaksi lipasta. Eli enpä ihmettelisi yhtään jos joku
tietämättä ampuu monta lipasta ja vasta sitten huomaa paljon se maksaa kun
ohjaajat eivät kysy yhtään paljon he ovat valmiita ampumaan. Maalitauluun asti
en nähnyt kovin hyvin, joten en ampumisen aikana yhtään tiennyt mihin olin
osunut. Kahdenkymmenen luodin jälkeen lopetin ja maalitaulu tuotiin lähemmäs.
Ohjaajani ja katsomossa ollut kiinalainen tuli ylistämään suoritustani ja minä
en kiinalaisen tapaan vain kiittelin heitä. Kiinalaisten tapojen mukaan
suoritusta pitäisi vähätellä ja sanoa kehujille, että ei tämä ollut yhtään hyvä
suoritus, vaan minun pitäisi harjoitella enemmän, tai jotain sen tapaista.
Minun oli tarkoitus mennä ampumaan tanskalaisten kanssa mutta emme koskaan saaneet
sovittua sopivaa aikaa, joten hyvä että nyt pääsin kokeilemaan millainen paikka
on, mikäli en heidän kanssa enää ehdikään mennä.

On Thursday I met a friend in the city and
we went out to eat some Korean food. After lunch we were supposed to go for archery.
I knew there would be a shooting range on Huaihai Rd, so we went there. The entrance
was difficult to find since it was located on a side street. Shanghai modern
military sports club is located on the seventh floor of a building in the city
center. They didn’t have archery, so we decided to try shooting instead. The
place is really overpriced since 10 bullets cost 80RMB. You can choose from
between some rifles and handguns for what you want to try. They even had a
Magnum handgun, but that one cost more. We chose to try a simple handgun and
since we were the only customers we were shown in to the shooting range straight
away. I didn’t even have time to take off my jacket or put my bag anywhere
before I was shown into a booth with a Chinese instructor. The instructor
explained how to shoot with two sentences in Chinese and then I was ready to
go. Luckily I had tried shooting twice before sine the instructions weren’t
sufficient enough. I shot once and the gun got stuck, so the instructor took a piece
of metal and tried to get the bullet out, which seemed really dangerous, but he
was surely used to it.
Since you only pay after you have been
shooting I decided to only go for twenty bullets, so that it wouldn’t get too
expensive. The instructor fills up the gun every time it gets empty, so if you
don’t stop him you will end up paying a lot. The target was so far away that I
had no idea where I had hit it. Only when I need the shooting was the target
brought closer and I could see that most shots had been pretty good. The
instructor and another Chinese guy came and congratulated me on my good work. I
thanked them in a not Chinese manner. I should have said that it was really bad
and I have to practice more instead of saying thank you. I was from the
beginning supposed to go shooting with the Danes but we never found a time that
worked for everybody, so it was nice for me that I could experience it in case
I won’t have time to go with the Danes anymore.
