Paljon ei ole tullut loman
aikana tehtyä. Kiinalaisten oppilaiden lähtiessä koti-kuntiinsa, liikkeet ja
ravintolat lähialueella sulkevat samalla ovensa. Kampus on ihan tyhjä ja yli
puolet Minxue ruokakatuni kojuista ovat hävinneet. Jopa Family Mart, joka
muistuttaa Ärrää, oli tänään melko tyhjä. Eli esim. valmisruokia ei ollut
tarjolla yhtään. Tanskalaiset lähtivät Filippiineille ja muut vaihto-oppilaat
ovat reissaamassa ympäri Kiinaa. Mietin tässä jo mikäli minun pitäisi käydä
Hong Kongissa jokunen päivä, jotta saisin ajan kulumaan paremmin. Eilen kävin
kaupungilla taas ale-tuotteita katsomassa, mutta ei vaatekaupoista mitään
mukaan tullut. Kävin kirjakaupasta ostamassa vähän matkaoppaita helmikuun
matkaa varten. Olin siis ajatellut matkustella Kiinan uuden vuoden jälkeen,
mutta nyt vaikuttaa kyllä siltä, että uusi vuosi tulee olemaan Shanghaissa
todella tylsä, kun kaikki paikat ovat kiinni, ja ihmiset lähtevät vanhempiensa
luo maille.

I haven’t been doing
almost anything during my holiday. Since all students
have left campus to celebrate Chinese New Year with their families, most shops
and restaurant have closed temporally. Most of the places I bought my food from
are already closed and even Family Mart was half empty when I went there today.
The Danish students went to the Philippines and the other exchange students are
traveling somewhere in China. I’m still not sure if I should go to Hong Kong
for a few days so I wouldn’t be so bored living at campus. Yesterday I went to
the city for some shopping, but I only bought some guidebooks for my upcoming
trip in February. I had planned to stay in Shanghai for the New Year and travel
after that, but now it seems like it would be better to see some new places
instead. Only thing stopping me from traveling inside China is that I believe
that most trains are already fully booked since everybody will be travelling
home.
