Koirakaupoissa

Kun ei koirienpelastuslaitoksissa ollut mitään sopivaa koiraa, katsoimme sivustolta, jonne kaikki tarjoukset pistetään. Sieltä löytyi kaksi paikkaa, josta sai melkein ilmaiseksi Pomeranian pentuja. Ensimmäinen paikka halusi pennusta eroon, sillä kukaan ei ollut halunnut ostaa sitä normaaliin hintaan ja se kuulemma oli vain kustannus kaupalle. Toinen pentu taas oli omistajan myytävänä, sillä raskaana ei voi olla koiraa kotona. Pennuista olisi tarvinnut maksaa noin 30-40 euroa, jotka kattaisi niiden rokotteet. Metrolla lähdimme ensimmäiseen paikkaan, jossa tämä luvattu Pomeranian pentu ei ollutkaan ihan puhdasrotuinen. Paikka oli siis eläinkauppa, jossa oli vain koiria tarjolla. Puhdasrotuinen Pomeranian pentu olisi maksanut 700rmb eli noin 100 euroa, mutta sillä meillä oli vielä toinen paikka jonne mennä, päätimme jättää tämän ostamatta.

Toinen paikka oli taas yli kolmenkymmenen minuutin ja kolmen metrolinjan vaihdon jälkeen toisella puolella kaupunkia. Luulin, että menemme jonkun kotiin katsomaan koiraa, sillä ilmoituksessa oli sanottu, että pentu myydään, sillä emäntä on raskaana, ja raskaiden naisten lähellä ei saa olla mitään likaista. Olin kumminkin väärässä, ja pentu oli toisessa koirakaupassa. Pentu ei taaskaan ollut oikein puhdas Pomerania ja vaikutti vähän oudolta, mutta kaupassa oli muita söpöjä pentuja, joita katselimme. Iloisesta ja muutenkin terveeltä vaikuttavalta pennusta olisi pitänyt maksaa 1200rmb. Voin siis lisätä, että suuriosa pennuista eivät vaikuttaneet kovin terveiltä, vaikka olivatkin ihan normaalissa kaupassa.

Löysimme vielä yhden kaupan, jonne soitimme ja kysyimme, että onko heillä puhdasrotuista pentua, jolla ei ole mitään piilokustannuksia. Heiltä löytyi, joten taas metroon. Melkein tunnin matkan ja kahden vaihdon jälkeen jouduimme vielä kävelemään tosi pitkän matkan kauppaan. Pentu oli taas jokin sekarotu, ja kauppias ei osannut vahvistaa mikä toinen rotu on. Tässä kaupassa oli paljon vähemmän koiria, muuta juuri ennen meitä, joku kävi ostamassa huskyn pennun. Katselimme kaupassa kolmea pentua, jotka oli jostain syystä jaettu kolmeen hintakategoriaan. Kaupan mukaan parhaimman laatuinen, eli "puhdas" Pomeranian maksoi 1200. Päädyimme siihen ja vaikka meillä ei ollut rahaa kuin vain 670, eli noin satasen, niin saimme sen ostettua. Metroon ei koiran kanssa saa mennä, joten onneksi lähistöllä oli bussi, jolla pääsimme melko lähelle kotia. 

                                                                                                                                                                   

After following up on some different pet rescue sites and not finding the dog we were looking for, we switched to another site. This one show cased dogs that were given away for almost free as they were unwanted. The first pup was in a pet shop where he was more like an expense for the shop as nobody had bought him and the second pup was given away since the previous owner fell pregnant and in China pregnant women aren't allowed to be near anything dirty, and dogs are classified as dirty. Both of the pups required the minimum fee of about 300rmb to cover their vaccinations. Both of the advertisement showed pictures of pure breed cute Pomeranian puppies, so we headed off to go to the first place. The puppy in the pet shop wasn't a pure breed and the fee seemed to be something else than what was promised, so we headed over to our next destination.

The second place wasn't either as I had expected. I thought we would go to somebody's home to have a look at the puppy, but the owner had actually left the pup at a pet store. This "free" dog wasn't neither a pure Pomeranian nor free, so we had a look at other pups at the store. The more playful and healthy looking pups cost 1200rmb, something I wasn't looking for after being promised the same breed for 20% of that price. The conclusion of this dog hunting was that there are no free dogs that only require the vaccination fee to be charged as well as the pictures used aren't the real ones. I was also surprised that most of the pups seemed sick in those stores that we visited. They also lacked drinking water, which was not a good sign. 

We still found a third place that we went to and there they also had three Pomeranian's, or what they claimed to be such, in three price categories depending on how good the quality of the breed was. The one for 300rmb was sick, the one for 700rmb seemed playful but was some kind of mixed breed. The most expensive one was for 1200 and they claimed it to be a pure breed, so we ended up taking the boy with us after getting the price down to 670. Since dogs aren't allowed in the subway we were happy to find a bus that we could take that went near our home area.
