CC huomasi, etten
pesemättä voinut lähteä tervehtimään sukulaisia, joten päätimme mennä läheiseen
pesulaan peseytymään. En ole aikaisemmin käynyt tällaisessa kiinalaisessa ”kylpylässä”,
joten en tiennyt mitä odottaa. CC sanoi ennen kun menimme erillisiin miesten ja
naisten pesutiloihin, että tänään ei varmaan paikalla ole paljon naisia. Tämä
toteama oli loppujen lopuksi väärä. Saimme sandaalit jalkaan ja kengät
jätettiin respalle. Menin naisten pukutiloihin, jossa oli jonkin verran
ihmisiä. Oma kaappi piti avata sekä omalla elektronisella avaimella, että
työntekijän yleisavaimella. Turvallisuussyistä tämä vaikutti ihan fiksulta.
Olin odottanut, että kaapissa olisi pyyhe, mutta ei. Joten vaatteet vaan
kaappiin ja alasti piti kävellä peseytymistiloihin. Suihkuja oli noin kymmenen, ja ennen minua oli
noin viiden naisen jono. Ajattelin että just joo, täällä pitää sitten odotella,
sillä ei tehnyt ollenkaan mieli mennä kiinalaismammojen kanssa lillumaan
pieneen altaaseen. Pesutiloissa oli myös kaksi kiinalaista ammetta, höyryhuone
joka ei ollut käytössä, hierontapöydät ja pallit, joiden päällä pystyi
peseytymään istuen.
Hetken jonottelun jälkeen
nuorempi kiinalaisnainen kiinaksi tarjosi, että voisimme jakaa suihkun.
Kieltäydyin kohteliaasti ja onneksi sain oman suihkun, kun toinen
kiinalaisnainen oli huomannut minut odottamassa. Jostain syystä kiinalaisnaiset
peseytyvät varsin hitaasti, ja ainakin puolituntia voi hyvin vierähtää. Shampoot
ja hoitoaineet olivat kaikki tarjolla, ja oli mukava kerrankin peseytyä
kuumassa vedessä. Pesun jälkeen takaisin pukuhuoneeseen, jossa sain todella
pikkuruisen käsipyyhkeen, jolla kuivata sekä vartalo että hiukset. Kaikki,
jotka halusivat mennä miesten ja naisten yhteiselle alueelle, saivat päällensä yöpukumaisen
t-paidan ja shortsit.
Yhteisissä tiloissa
pystyi menemään laulumaan karaokea tai hierontaan, mutta se vaati maksun. Itse
menimme maksuttomiin lepotuoleihin, jossa katsoa leffaa omasta tv-ruudusta.
Ääni kuului omasta tyynystä, joten huoneessa oli melko rauhallista, vaikka
paikalla olikin lähemmäs sata henkeä. Kävimme myös huoneessa, jossa lämpö oli
nostettu noin 30 asteeseen. Siellä pystyi istumaan tai makaamaan kovalla
alustalla. Tyynynä oli kivi, joka oli ihme kyllä melko mukava. Pesun ja noin
tunnin levon jälkeen palasimme kotiin. Maksoimme noin 9 euroa per henkilö,
mutta jos haluisi viettää yön täällä, olisi tarvinnut maksaa vielä noin euron
lisähinnan.

As I got to the washing area, there were
about five people waiting for the showers. I have noticed that Chinese women
wash for ages. It might take over thirty minutes for them to wash in public
showers such as at the gym, and I have no idea how they can use that much time.
Anyways, I had to wait for a while until one woman in one of the ten showers
asked if I wanted to share the shower with her. Of course she just spoke
Chinese, but I nicely declined her offer. After a while another woman looked at
me, went back to the shower and came out again, the second time she told me I
could use the shower and left. All things needed, such as shampoo and other necessary
things were available in every shower. The washing area also included a steam
room that wasn’t working, a small pool for five people, two Chinese style tubs,
a massage area and some showers in a row with chairs, where you can wash
yourself without needing to stand up.
After the shower I went back to the
changing room where a worker handed me a tiny towel. After getting somewhat dry,
I was handed a two piece pyjama like set to put on. I dried my hair and went to
the second floor where both men and women can hang out. When CC also had finished
washing we went to a large room with rows of seats with private TV screens. We
took two seats and you could basically sleep in them. The sound came from the
head rest, so you could barely hear what others were watching. There were some
movies, but we didn’t like spending too much time there. In addition, people could
get massages there and some where smoking so it wasn’t the most comfortable
place, even though they had provided us with water and blankets.
We moved on to another room, which was
almost like a sauna. In the heated room, you could either sit or lay down, with
a stone pillow to rest your head on. It was actually really comfortable in the
hot room with the hard pillow and the pyjamas on, but if you’d like to stay in
the bath house over the night you have to pay extra. So after the washing,
resting and relaxing we went back downstairs and changed. The bath house also
had some other entertainment like KTV, but for most things you need to pay
extra. Jus the washing and the things were included and cost 59rmb for one
person. So not the cheapest place for common Chinese people who needs to wash,
but rather a place where they like to spend time with their friends and family.
