En edes ollut tietoinen,
että Shanghaissa on loistava sirkus – akrobatia esitys, ennen kuin ystävä kävi
sen katsomassa, ja suositteli, että mekin menisimme. Olin lukenut, että
esitelmä on unohtamaton, ja niinhän se olikin! Emme olleet varanneet etukäteen
mitään lippuja, mutta se ei onniksi ollut mikään ongelma. Esitys pidetään joka
ilta ja se alkaa puoli kahdeksalta. Olimme paikalla noin puolituntia
aikaisemmin, joten ostimme liput alakerran lippupisteestä ja lähdimme sen
jälkeen ostamaan ruokaa ennen esitystä. Me maksoimme lipuista vähän yli 26
euroa henkilöltä, mutta kalliimpiakin lippuja löytyy. Vaikka ostimme halvimmat
liput, paikat eivät olleet yhtään huonot, vaan näimme paikoiltamme kaiken
loistavasti. Esityksen aikana ei saanut ottaa yhtään kuvia, joten ainoastaan
väliaikana ja lopussa otin lavasta kuvan, loput kuvista ovat sirkuksen omia.
Esitys oli jaettu
kuuteentoista esitykseen, josta jotkut olivat melko normaaleja esityksiä, joita
aikaisemmin olen nähnyt kuten esim. jongleerausta, lautasten pyörittämistä ja
liikkuvien rinkuloiden läpi hyppiminen. Toisaalla oli myös paljon esityksiä,
joita en ollut koskaan nähnyt. Esitys alkoi siitä, että esityslavan peitti
kokonaan seinä, joka peilasi yleisön peilikuvan. Peili hävisi maagisesti ja
lasin läpi näki esityksen. Lasiseinämän jälkeen voimakas kiinalaismies heitti
ja potki isoja keramiikka ruukkuja ilmaan ja otti ne vastaan esim. päällään.
Ensimmäinen puoliaika loppui esitykseen, jonka aikana kädet hikoilivat sen
verran paljon pelosta, että ei aina uskaltanut katsoa mitä he oikein tekivät.
Noin kymmenenmetrisessä pyörässä oli kolme pienempää pyörää jonka sisällä
akrobaatit tekivät temppuja samalla kun pyörä pyöri paikoillaan ympäri.
Akrobaatit siirtyivät pyörän ulkopuolelle ja alkoivat hyppimään hyppynarua
takaperin ja jongeeraamaan palavilla kepeillä ym. Välillä esitys jäi lyhyeen,
mikäli akrobaatilla oli tasapaino pettämässä, mutta onneksi ei mitään
tapahtunut, mitä he eivät etukäteen olisi harjoitelleet.
Esitysten välissä oli
noin kymmenen minuutin tauko ennen kuin show taas jatkui kello yhdeksään asti.
Toisessa osassa tehtiin paljon enemmän temppuja ilmassa valjaiden varassa.
Esim. yksi teki noin kymmenen metrisen loikan päästäkseen ilmassa olleeseen
tuolin päälle istumaan. Myös nainen ja mies lensivät ilman halki pitäen vain
kiinni kankaasta, joka oli kiinnitetty kattoon. Show’n huippu oli loppuosa, kun
muistaakseni kuusi moottoripyörää ajoivat yhdessä ison metallisen- maapallon
sisällä. Ihme kyllä he eivät koskaan törmänneet, vaikka vaihtoivat ajosuuntaa
silloin tällöin, ja jotkut ajoivat vaakasuoraa kun taas toiset menivät ylös ja
alas. Toisin sanoen show oli kyllä näkemisen arvoinen, ja enkä usko, että moni
akrobaattien show tulee enää näyttämään yhtä hyvältä kuin tämän laatuista
akrobatiaa on nähnyt.

I had heard a lot about the performance by ERA at the Circus World. After a friend went and saw it she told me I had to see it too, so together with my boyfriend we went to see the show. Show is performed every night from half past seven until nine o'clock. We didn't book any tickets in advance so I was a bit nervous in case it would have been sold out. Thirty minutes before the show started we bought our tickets from the shop underneath the building. We got the cheapest one costing 200rmb, but there are also tickets in price classes 300, 400 and 600. The more you pay the better seats you get, but we could see just fine from our seats as well. We bought some caramel popcorn and got seated. No pictures were allowed to be taken, which means that only the pictures taken in during the half time and in the end were mine, and the rest are from the official site.
The show consisted of sixteen acts from which some were smaller and not that extraordinary, like juggling, hoop diving and spinning plates. But then there were some acts I never seen before. All in all I need to say that the show was extremely good and I have never seen anything like that. Most of the acts were accompanied by a band playing live either with traditional instruments or western ones. There was also a great opera singer, who sang really well, and made the atmosphere surreal. The show started of by a large mirror wall put up in a circle around the arena. The mirror turned into glass and a performance was made inside the mirror mirage. After this a large man appeared and threw big bowls into the air and caught them on the way down with his arm or head or feet. He also kicked them up in the air and caught them without breaking anything. The first half of the show ended with a wheel of life. Looking at them perform ten meters up in the air on a wheel spinning made my hand sweaty of fear. In the large wheel there were tree smaller ones, in which they did various acrobatic tricks. To add to this they stood outside the small wheels and for example started skipping rope or juggling with burning sticks.
There was a ten minute break after which the show continued. In the second part they did more acrobatic tricks in the air. In one act boy jumped ten meters up in the air and landed on a chair that was held up in air. In another act a women and a man just hanging from a strip of fabric did some tricks in the air and flew around the arena. It was a bit terrifying to watch since they didn't hold on to much and if their grip would slip they would fall right into the audience. The last performance was called the space motorcycle and inside a metallic doom, six or seven motorcycles drove inside. Every time one more was added into the doom I was amazed by how precious their driving was, so that they never drove into each other. They could switch directions many times and no accidents happened. I think it was worth seeing the show, since it incorporated lots of different visual effects from the acrobats to the light and lots of videos were projected onto screens.
