Arvata voi kuka vietti
tänään kolmisen tuntia pankissa. Syy pankki vierailuun oli se, että
pankkitilillä oli euroja, ja niitähän ei automaatista voi nostaa ennen kun ne
muutetaan yuaniksi. Muuttaminen olisi ollut kuulemma helppoa verkkopankissa,
mutta minulla ei ollut tunnuksia. Joten tarkoituksena oli saada laite, joka
avaa yhteyden nettipankkiin. Jonotimme noin neljänkymmenen hengen perässä yli
tunnin. Pankki jonotus toimii siten, että jos VIP asiakas saapuu, häntä
palvellaan ensin, eli jonon ohi vaan. VIP asiakkaita oli suurin piirtein joka
kolmas asiakas, joten jonottaminen kesti todella pitkään. Lopulta en jaksanut
jonottaa, vaan menin yhden tiskin eteen kyttäämään. Lopuksi yksi virkailija
sanoi toiselle virkailijalle, että mene katsomaan mitä asiaa tolla
ulkomaalaisella oikein on. Hommahan hoitui heti nopeammin ja pääsin ilman
numeroa virkailijan eteen. Ensimmäinen virkailija antoi laitteen, jolla pääsisi
nettipankkiin. Siirryimme seuraavan virkailijan luo, jonka piti auttaa laitteen
rekisteriröhimisessä. Tämä oli yllättävän vaikeata, sillä puhelimeni saldo oli
huomaamattani loppunut, ja virkailija siirsi rahaa sinne tänne, jotta saisimme
puhelimeni toimimaan. Kun laite toimi, piti eurot vaihtaa, mutta tämä ei
jostain syystä toiminut, joten saimme työllistää kolme uutta virkailijaa, jotta
he saisivat vaihdettua valuuttaa. Kolmen tunnin jälkeen rahat olivat lopulta
kädessäni, ja olin säästänyt noin 20 euroa siihen verrattuna, että olisin rahat
vain suoraan nostanut suomalaiselta pankkikortilta. En lopuksi tiennyt mikäli
olisi parempi tyhjentää kortti kokonaan ja vaihtaa pankkia, vai pysytellä ihan
oman kotimaisen kortin turvissa?

who spent three hours in a bank today. I posted some while ago that I got a
Chinese bank card from China Construction Bank. Now I know this isn’t the bank
to choose if you are foreigner. I had euros on my bank account, but couldn’t
get them out before they were converted to yuan. Easy, some might think, but
really hard in the end, almost impossible. I was told I could change the
currency myself on my online bank, but I didn’t have an online bank account, so
I had to go the bank and get one. We queued for a good one hour before I got up
and went in front of one of the desks with personnel. After a while one of them
asked their college to go and ask what I was waiting for, and straight away I
was showed to an desk were an employee helped me by saying that I don’t need to
queue, I could just straight come up and say what I needed. I got the device
with which I could open up an online bank account. Another employee helped set
up the system, but we had problems with my phone which money had ended and I
couldn’t text anymore. After transferring money back and forth the phone worked
again and the online account was working. The only problem was that they weren’t
able to convert the money, so I had to go to three other desks before one of
them finally was able to convert the money into yuan. At some point they even
told me I had spelled my name in the wrong order, even though it was them who
did it when I got the card the first time. Three hours later I took all the
euros out of the account, since I don’t want to go through the hassle again of
switching money. They told me the bank of China could handle this more easily.
Really? Why didn’t you tell me this when I applied for the card to be used for euros?
