Olin viime vuonna ostanut
muovisen passikotelon passilleni, mutta sillä pelkään, että se voi pilata
passin, päätin ostaa kankaisen. Olin jo aikaisemmin katsellut näitä koteloita,
mutta liikkeessä on aina ollut porukkaa, joten en ole uskaltanut alkaa tinkiä.
Tälläkin kertaa paikalla oli toinenkin asiakas mutta kiinankielellä kysyin
paljon ne maksavat. Myyjä sanoi että ne ovat lähemmäs 180rmb, eli melkein 30
euroa. Sanoin että ostan kaksi koteloa 50rmb, eli yhteensä noin 7 euroa. Myyjä
sanoi että minulle hän ei mitään myy, joten lähdin liikkeestä pois. Myyjä
kuitenkin huuteli että tulepas takaisin, sillä hän antaa ne minulle 80rmb.
Vastasin vain että ei kiitos, haluan ne viidelläkympillä. Myyjä varmasti
jälleen kirosi minut ja lähdin taas kävelemään pois. Vielä toisen kerran hän huusi perääni ja antoi periksi, sillä sain ne haluamaani hintaan. Kotelot olivat kuulemma kalliit
sillä ne ovat silkkiä ja käyttävät tunnetun Shanghai Tangin logoa?
These
were the passport holders that I nearly didn’t get at Science and Technology
market. I had been to the store a couple of times before, but never dared to
ask how much they were, as there have always been other people around. This
time there was also another women shopping, but in Chinese I asked how much the
passport holder was. The sellers told me they cost about 180rmb. As I know that
they always overvalue stuff, I told her I wanted two for fifty. She told me she
wouldn’t sell anything to me, so I left the store. After walking ten meters
away she called me back and started the bidding war again, I didn’t budge from
my fifty, so I had to walk away again. On the second time she called me back
she agreed on the price and I got these great looking passport protectors that
I had been wanting for quite some time. The sellers tried to convince me that
they are made of real silk and have the expensive Shanghai Tang logo on them,
but for me they are just better than the plastic one I had before.
